Interesting Facts/Historic Buildings and Places
For more than 500 years the rolling hills and grasslands of what is today southwestern Placer County were home to the Maidu Indians. Then, in 1849, gold was discovered, and the tranquil landscape would change forever. The Gold Rush brought hopeful miners from around the world, many of them settling the lands of modern day Roseville.

Roseville started out as a small agricultural center and became a major railroad hub. It grew to be Placer County's most populous city when Southern Pacific Railroad moved its railroad switching yards there in 1908.

Currently run by Magic Circle Theatre, the Tower Theatre was originally built in 1940, and is still used till this day for arts and entertainment.

In 1964, Roseville celebrated its 100th birthday with a yearlong series of activities. That same year, Roseville was the proud recipient of Look Magazine's prestigious "All America City" awards.

The Roseville Telephone Museum is among the most extensive collections of antique telephones and memorabilia in the nation. Professional museum curators guide visitors through the 4500-square foot, four-gallery exhibit, featuring a display of the original telephones designed by Alexander Graham Bell, circa 1876. Early switchboards and novelty phones are also on display, treating guests to an educational and entertaining walk down memory lane. Hundreds of candlestick and early wooden wall telephones and rare telephone booths are just some of the other items on display. For a special treat, visitors can try making a call on the magneto switchboard actually used by Roseville Telephone in 1914.

Real Estate Tips
Relocation >Relocating

Moves are right up at the top of the list of stress-producing situations. It is not uncommon to feel a little overwhelmed by the process of relocating. You must sell your old home, pack up, leaving behind many friends and memories, and then get settled in the new area.

Professional real estate agents understand both the difficulties and the rewards of making a major move. By listening carefully to what you want and need, your agent will get a feeling for the style of home, neighborhood location and amenities you are seeking. He or she can also point you in the right direction for information about schools, shopping, public transportation, and groups of people who share your interests. If you are considering a move, call a professional real estate agent for information about the area you would like to live in. Discuss the type of house you are looking for and your price range so that the agent can acquaint you with the available homes that will meet your criteria when you are ready to begin looking.
